IDEAS IN BALANCE

Some assembly
required.

A personal workshop for making things that probably didn’t need making.

THE ORIGIN OF ǡ

How ai became ǡ.com

One instruction. Two versions of the same unfortunate success.

Eight-panel comic: a machine makes the letters ai; the maker removes the i and mounts it as a dot over a, creating ǡ.com
Human's versionA perfectly good “ai” was just the beginning.
Eight-panel comic: a pleased AI makes ai; the human alters the letters into ǡ while the computer watches in distress; the new ǡ.com sign goes up
AI's versionEverything was working perfectly. Then someone had an idea.

Same events. Different interpretation. The i has declined to comment.

Projects in motion.

A project gives curiosity a job. Each one pushes me to teach myself new skills, question what I think I understand, and carry that understanding into the next build.

SHELVED EXPERIMENT

vibeOS

An operating-system experiment for learning low-level computing in an emulator.

EXPERIMENTS

Games and interactive tools

Prototypes that turn questions into something you can use, play, and revise.

Workshop experiments.

Give me a soldering iron, a laser cutter and engraver, or a 3D printer, and I can make an idea physical. I can build embedded Linux systems for tiny computers, install security cameras, and create home automation.

The workshop is my mental break from programming and solving problems for others. Why not take on a problem in the physical world that is entirely my own?

AmoosedWeb

I started AmoosedWeb as a portfolio experiment to draw attention to my work and LinkedIn profile during my job search. Building the site led me to create publishing tools and new ways to deliver verified content.

vibeOS

vibeOS is a shelved operating-system experiment. I built it in an emulator to learn low-level computing and to test how well agentic coding handles that kind of work.

To learn by making mistakes.

Projects give curiosity a practical question. Building an answer means teaching myself new skills, finding the edges of what I understand, and trying again with better information.

I enjoy creating tools that help developers, sharing what I learn, and collaborating across disciplines. I value maintainability, simplicity, and understanding why things work.

The maker behind ǡ.com.

I am Juhapekka Piiroinen. I enjoy understanding complex systems, finding root causes, and building practical solutions that improve development reliability and efficiency.

My experience spans hardware interfaces, operating systems, developer tooling, automation, and large-scale build infrastructure.

ǡ.com is an independent home for that side of my work.
